| Art has always meant a lot to me. Graffiti was a significant part of life when I was young and the culture has inspired me in many ways. In the early days one of the biggest inspirations for me where writers like Hugh Dunnit, Paris, Ark, Nemo, Lemon, STR Crew, CW Crew, WCA Crew, DMA Crew and American writers like Seen, T-Kid etc. To me graffiti is not vandalism, I don't see it as crime, it's even more than art, it is a culture in which many are drawn to for many reasons but one I think most of all is possible, that some of us have an instinct to record the events of our century. There is evidence of this throughout history with the aboriginals who would mix mud and spray it out of their mouths over a stencil of their hand, the hieroglyphics in Egypt, imagine if people did not record their stories in history, we wouldn't know about the past. |
